The Philosophy of Travel
Dear Fellow Travellers
Its time to keep a promise, the one I made in my first post, i.e. the promise of poetry. And I am also expanding on what I promised in my second post where I outlined a short theme on life's journey. That theme has come to fruition for me.
How far have I come in this journey,
Just as far as the crow flies?
Has it just been an ordinary travel,
Or the momentous one of one who dies?
Did I just take a mere step,
Or did I transcend an entire eon?
Did I do this of my own accord,
Or was I a controlled projectile thrown?
Should I retrace my steps,
Or let myself, with the tide, be flown?
Should I hope to climb life’s mountain,
Or maybe the ‘up’ is the new ‘down’?
It took me a short flight to be where I am,
But in reality it took me more.
For it took me to leave behind,
My existence and what was truly ours.
